Le Duc led every lap on route to his first win of the season for Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc. He repeated the same great performance the next day because of a fortunate inversion of the top qualifiers that moved him from eighth on the starting grid to the pole. An inversion put Todd at the pole because of the luck of the draw. Race officials pulled the number eight and Todd was the number eight qualifier which moved him up to the key position.

Curt Leduc, Todd’s father, called that inversion a gift. Todd had no intention on squandering that good fortune. His plan for the race was to run hard and get away from the field, and that’s exactly what he did, twice.

LeDuc and his Ford with K&N Engineering products were comfortably ahead of second place Scott Taylor when the mandatory yellow flag waved at the midway point of the 18-lap race. LeDuc held his lead on the restart and kept it there.

“This is unbelievable,” said LeDuc after his sixth career CORR victory. “We made some changes on the truck to get it a little bit quicker. I thought they would be conservative when they watered the man made track, but they actually made it worse. I was just looking for anywhere that was dry and had traction.”

Todd’s win was important to the team after various problems hit Curt and Kyle LeDuc in the Pro 4 class feature. Curt started ninth in the 18-lap Pro 4 race and charged up to second place. His runner up finish ended after he was hit from behind and turned sideways in the final corner on the final lap. He went from second to fourth and filed a protest over what he felt was deliberate, unnecessary contact.

Kyle worked his way back through the field after getting a tire stuck and rolled his Ford truck onto its side on the second lap. He finished eleventh. “Overall it was a great weekend,” said Curt LeDuc. “With Todd winning back to back, from the pole both times this team is a real threat. We have the tools to contend for wins in every race. We can still depend on the reliability of K&N air filters.”

The next race in the CORR Series will be at Chula Vista, California on July 26-27.
